A statement by editor Mark G. Stith:
Owners Rita & Doug Pruett give personal attention to their visitors, making them feel at ease in their comfortable home surrounded by scenery that's like no other place in Tennessee.

History of Fall Creek Falls Bed & Breakfast

Doug & Rita Pruett opened Fall Creek Falls Bed & Breakfast in 1991. It was the first B&B on the Cumberland Plateau.

Bed & Breakfast Since opening, they have hosted many country music singers and songwriters, senators, foreign travelers and a multitude of work-weary guests, but as Rita puts it, "I'm still waiting on Elvis".

Doug is the breakfast cook and uses recipes passed down from his 90 year old grandmother. A typical breakfast might be: stuffed french toast with homemade apple cider syrup with sausage and cooked apples, or his newest offering, "Egg in a Snowbank", with Lemon Poppy Seed scones and homemade cinnamon rolls. Rita comments that, "Doug puts a lot of thought into his cooking and tries to make breakfast special". A typical morning will find Doug serving up breakfast and conversation to the men who often gather in the kitchen to talk while Doug cooks. An avid bow hunter and trout fisherman, he always has a story or two to serve up.

Rita, a native of the area, believes the Fall Creek Falls community, that is home to the State Park, is still one of the largely undiscovered, non-commercialized vacation spots left in the South. The B&B offers clean, safe lodging in a community blessed with natural beauty and friendly people, a combination hard to beat.
